The difference between couples coaching and couples therapy can be summed up in the end goals. Couples therapy is about helping couples heal from past traumas, emotional issues and pathology. Couples coaching is a process of identifying poor patterns of behavior, communication and interactions that prevent you from getting the most out of your relationship. In coaching sessions, you will focus on what you want your relationship to look like, feel like and function as in the future. You will set quantifiable goals to determine if you are or are not meeting that vision. The work is done in ninety minute to two hour sessions and strong work by the two of you inbetween.
